How to Apply Essential Oils to Jewelry

Updated: Sep 7, 2019

Now that you have purchased your jewelry, you might be wondering how to apply essential oils to the lava beads. I recommend two methods for applying essential oils to your lava bracelet. Do whatever makes you feel more comfortable.

Method 1: Use Your Finger to Apply the Oils

This is my preferred method of applying oils to my lava jewelry. I recommend this method if you are comfortable with making direct skin contact with essential oils.

Step 1: Open the essential oil bottle that you would like to apply to your jewelry

Step 2: Cover the opening of the essential oil bottle with your finger and tip it to the side, to wet your finger with essential oils.

Step 3: Locate the black or white porous lava beads and touch your finger with the oil to the beads

Step 4: Allow the lava beads soak up the essential oils and let it dry

Step 5: After the jewelry is dry, put it on and enjoy the scent!

Step 6: Re-apply using this same method after the scent fades away. How long the scent remains varies by essential oil. It can last from a couple of hours to a couple of days!

Method 2: Use a Q-tip to Apply the Oils

I recommend this method for those who do not feel comfortable making direct contact with essential oils. If you are prone to negative reactions from essential oils getting on your skin, use this method.

Step 1: Open the essential oil bottle that you would like to apply to your jewelry

Step 2: Wet the tip of a Q-tip with essential oil

Step 3: Locate the black or white porous lava beads and touch the Q-tip to the beads

Step 4: Allow the lava beads soak up the essential oils and let it dry

Step 5: After the jewelry is dry, put it on and enjoy the scent!

Step 6: Re-apply using this same method after the scent fades away. How long the scent remains on the lava beads varies by essential oil. It can last from a couple of hours to a couple of days!
